Why?
The Wyoming Elk Fires
In September 2024, Wyoming experienced the Elk Wildfire that burned almost 100,000 acres including the Bighorn national forest and spurred a rush of evacuations nearby.
The wood used for making each gnome is sourced from one of the trees from the Elk Fire. A reminder and tribute to the people, firefighters and land.
